Miles driven divided by gallons of gas.

Driving habbits that give better gas milage:

1) Highway milage vs stop n go.

2) When accelerating, don't punch it like your at a drag race.

3) Driving in Overdrive, usually the D with Box around it. Also, overdrive doesn't kick in until 45 - 50 mph.

4) Proper tire inflation

5) Change oil and filter every 3000miles.

6) Tune up

7) Winter driving, don't wait for the car to completely warm up, but don't hit the express way until you've driven at least 5mi at 50mph or less. Oil needs to warm up.

8) When standing 3min or longer, shut the engine off. Like waiting for your fast food or at a railroad crossing.

9) Use an injector cleaner in gas tank once a month. Use Techron by Chevron. The extra cost is worth it.

10) Keep a steady speed or better yet a constant engine rpm. When driving up a hill let the engine back down. By trying to maintain your speed you use more gas.

The next time you fill up your car, record the mileage. The time after that, record the mileage again and see how many miles you traveled between fill-ups. Take that number and divide it by the number of gallons of gas you put in that second fill-up.

Hi Rizzott

Not sure if this will help you or not. The link below is a miles per gallon calculator.

Take a look and see if it helps.

Divide the number of miles you drive on a tank of gas by the amount of gallons of gas that you put in your tank beforehand.

Example: Say you put in 20 gallons of gas. Then you got 300 miles out of that tank of gas. You would use: 300/20=15. 15mpg.

Let your tank run as close to empty as you are comfortable with.

Fill up your tank taking note of how many gallons you put in.

Reset your trip odometer.

When you get back to empty, note how many miles you have traveled.

Total miles/gallons filled up = mileage

1. Write down the amount of gas -- G1

2. Write down how many miles you have on the vehicle -- M1

3. Drive for sometime

4. Write down the amount of gas -- G2

5. Write down how many miles you have on the vehicle -- M2

6. Use the following formula:

Miles per gallon = (M2-M1)/(G1-G2)

When you fill up your car set the odometer to zero. Then when you fill it see how many gallons the car takes in and divide that into the miles on your odometer
