Well here in Colorado they have a number that you can call for companies that carpool or just regular people that sign up to carpool and I think it's even CHEAPER than taking the bus. Basically, they hook you up with people in your area that will be traveling to the same vicinity. Look it up on the Internet under carpooling with your state name.

There are lot's of other ways of transportation like, maybe you can take a bus, train, or carpool with someone like your close friends or neighbors. And you can also ride your bike there too. I hope you try one of those examples.
